Let me start this off by saying it could truly happen to anyone, but this happened to a good friend this past season and it made it to the campfire so I thought I would pass it on for everyone to enjoy.

Well it was a good set up on a water hole somewhere in New Mexico with good sign and a great chance to bag a quality deer. A morning set up with the plan to stay all day, our very experienced hunter was well equipped and had set in for the day. Most of us kn0w that it can be a long day so between naps we keep our mind occupied by reading a book,……. its so relaxing just to be in the woods……..wait was that a sound of moving rocks…. quick put the book down grab the bow……get ready…there he is…. steady, steady pick a spot… squeeze….. Then it happens the sound of arrow slapping off rock and sliding across the ground.

So what the heck happened, he was dead on when the shot broke……. so he begins to review the steps up to the shot and the only thing he can figure is he missed judged a 20 yard chipper…..no way this is an experienced hunter so lets check the bow over real good just to see if something may have moved… wait a second as he lowered his head to see the bow he noticed…….. Yep! you guessed it …. He had on his reading glasses.

So it is true your never to old to learn, that MURPHY hunts with all of us.
